Event Details

Dear Members and Friends of SwissCham,

SwissCham is delighted to invite you to our upcoming webinar of the series on the topic "China's Approach to a Challenging External Environment" on Thursday, June 30 on Zoom, in collaboration with stars, the French Chamber (CCI France Chine), and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) as well as with Caixin Global as media partner and the China Macro Group as knowledge partner.

In our third conversation of this series, stars Switzerland Alumni Chapter President Markus HERRMANN, Managing Director at China Macro Group (CMG), will be talking to ZHU Feng, Dean and Professor at Nanjing University's School of International Studies and Non-resident Researcher at the Institute of International Studies in Nanjing. Current developments have changed the perception of international organizations towards China. A challenging geo-political setting as well as China's position on recent economic and political developments at home and within its foreign policy have sparked concern. How does Beijing read these developments? And how will China's policymakers likely balance their at times conflicting interest and ensure a conducive external environment – still considered a key ingredient for continued development?

Kindly note: All webinars of this series are held under Chatham House Rules and will not be recorded. We are looking forward to welcoming you to this interesting webinar.
