IP Protection and Best Practices in China

Dear Members and Friends of the Swisscham,

We are excited to extend an invitation to our upcoming Intellectual Property Protection in China event in collaboration with the Swiss Business Hub, scheduled for September 12 at the German Center in Beijing from 17:00 (Beijing Time) . This event will focus on the challenges faced by Swiss companies in safeguarding their intellectual property (IP) while doing business in China. The event will be accessible both in-person and remotely and we will have the pleasure to host Mr. Martin Matter, the Head of the Swiss Embassy's Economic, Finance, and Trade Section.

In today's global market, protecting intellectual property is of utmost importance. As Swiss SMEs seek opportunities in China, understanding and navigating the intricate IP landscape is crucial. The Market Access and Regulation Committee of Swisscham China is proud to present a workshop dedicated to exploring "IP Protection and Best Practices in China".

The event will start with Jia Xufeng, Chair of the Market Access and Regulation Committee. Jia will provide insights into the critical topic of IP protection and market access in China. We are also pleased to welcome two esteemed guest speakers who will share their experiences:

Lily Shi from Hidrostal (Qingdao) Pumps Co.Ltd - Delving into real-world case, Ms. Lily Shi will share her insight on her on-going case to protect her company IP in China and all the challenges she encounter during her on-going journey.

Werner Schuppisser from Movenpick – Mr. Schuppisser with 20 years' experience in building Swiss Retail brands in China and navigating around IP issues.

Following these presentations, an engaging panel discussion moderated by Jia Xufeng will provide attendees with the opportunity to ask questions and gain deeper insights into IP protection strategies. The discussion will revolve around practical approaches, legal considerations, and the future of IP protection in China. And if you have any questions, it would be the right time to ask!
