SwissCham, in collaboration with the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, is delighted to invite you to the webinar "Key points for compliance with China's Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL)" co-organized with Bonnard Lawson on February 10.

As data privacy is getting prioritized worldwide, many countries have started to frame relevant laws and regulations in recent years on personal information protection like GDPR for Europe. The Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) in China entered into force on 1 November 2021.

The interpretation of a new law is always a challenge for companies going to China. According to Jianping Mei (associate of Bonnard Lawson in Lausanne) and Vanessa Albuquerque (associate of Bonnard Lawson in Shanghai), companies going to China would need a general understanding of the regulatory environment of PIPL's release, PIPL's main characteristics as well as the difference between PIPL and GDPR to make a good compliance strategy in China.
